Photoncycle. We developed Photoncycle's brand narrative and web experience, bringing their revolutionary technology—a solar energy system that stores the season—to market.

Photoncycle have invented a revolutionary way to store solar energy efficiently and safely as solid hydrogen. This technology solves the main problem with solar energy: having either too much at once, or not enough for months. After having raised $5.3 million, they were ready to bring their unique product to market, starting with Northern Europe. To do so, they needed a brand narrative that could clarify their positioning to target customers and win trust globally. We were tasked to help them stand out in a competitive landscape, where big claims are made without follow-through. Instead, Photoncycle offers a concrete solution.

Spending time at the Photoncycle labs in Oslo, we got to know the technology from the ground-up. Combining these insights with their existing customer research, we formed a strategy that could tell the story of their breakthrough science, while focusing on customer benefits. For the visual identity, we were influenced by each of the four seasons Photoncycle supports, as well as the aesthetic of the physical product itself. We built upon Photoncycle's existing logo, making it stand out across a broader set of applications. Bringing all this together on a scalable website, we built a diagram to break down the technology’s main processes, plus a configurator to start the sales process via a personalised unit and quote. This configurator will be live soon.
