We collaborated with SPACE10 on Carbon Banks, bringing creative direction, CGI and a dedicated microsite to a speculative design project exploring the future of furniture and digital ownership.

Starting point
Carbon Banks is a speculative design project by SPACE10, IKEA's former global research and innovation lab, exploring how digital assets could promote a circular economy for furniture. The project envisioned linking physical furniture to a unique blockchain-based AR tree, encouraging owners to keep and maintain their items longer rather than replacing them. SPACE10 brought in BB alongside 3D partners ZUNC and design lab WINT, not to provide a solution, but to promote debate around the concepts involved.
Outcome
We set the creative direction for Carbon Banks and co-produced its launch material. Through CGI and UI scenarios we brought the physical and digital user journey to life, and co-wrote the project's white paper, refining its ideas into a clear narrative for a hero film, eight short clips and still exports. A dedicated microsite presented the research and its underlying thinking to external audiences.
