Cross-platform interface design

Acano is a Norwegian startup aiming to solve the troubles of video conferencing once and for all. A couple of guys from Tandberg started the company in 2012 and it quickly became one of the fastest growing and most ambitious startups to come out of Norway. In November 2015 they sold the company to Cisco for 700 million dollars, after just over two years in business.

Acano approached us back in 2013 needing help to design their first range of clients for the service. Their goal of solving the struggles of enterprise video conferencing was one we could relate to. Their mission to eliminate obstacles to great collaboration and teamwork echoes our own ideals.

Together with their in-house team we designed the first range of clients for Acano’s next generation cross-platform video conferencing service in just three months.

The work involved interaction and interface design for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Windows clients, as well as their responsive web application. We developed a highly flexible style guide, so developers didn’t have to scroll through endless PSDs of specs.
